The industrial practices that reduce social, environmental and economic costs have been an indispensable tool in the appropriation that citizens have of a behavior that, in the same way, contributes to the preservation of these resources. This research initially focuses on the development of three objectives, the first one was to define the concepts of sustainable development according to the United Nations on the 2030 agenda, from which responsible consumption and production emerge, then a context on the consumption and the environmental impact in the city of Medellín is presented, recognizing some of the actions taken by two of the most representative industries in the city, Grupo Nutresa and Grupo Éxito, who have shown an interest in being part of these initiatives and incorporating the best practices into their daily processes, to finally analyze their relationship with the habits that have been adopted by the citizens in recent years, since the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals emerged.en_US
